Don't forget that the hardened steel  factory blank keys can't be cut by just any shop. They are a much harder steel and you have to hunt down someone that has the heavy duty cutting tools - an almost but not quite impossible task here in Phoenix.  Someone once brought up the point that the hardened steel actually wears the ignition out more quickly.  Less expensive to replace a worn key than a worn ignition.  IMHO.  Madeline
