Yeah, "back in the day" (late 70s before the Sherwood/Old Volks Home days) I
worked at a foreign car parts store in LA's San Gabriel Valley and we were
clued in by a Bosch rep friend of mine about the interchangeability of the
fuel injectors, as Bosch supplied the Datsun/Nissan factory the FI
components. We were the only people selling injectors into the early 80s to
280Z owners at a much lower price that the local dealerships who were
baffled as to why I could sell 'em so cheap (at the time). Sometimes, the
dealers would buy 'em from me rather than through their supply depots.
Over the years since then when a VW customer would comment on one his/her
other cars they were working on and it happened to be a 280Z that needed
injectors, they were happy to be able get 'em from me and not pay the
outrageous price at the dealership.
