Hi guys, In reading the past days of ECU/ AFM solutions, I re-read a favorite site of similar discussions by Rodger Bywater http://www.jagweb.com/aj6eng/v12-engine/. This site is rich in many regards to vanagons In depth discussions on the ECU, the AFM , the bowl in piston combustion chambers the v-12 had, pre HE engine, which are similar to the vanagons. I'd like to call attention to the last bit which is discussed in detail on the v-12 article. Reading about a third the way through discussion on the flat head and bowl piston is key to the "industrial engine" design profile of the waterboxer. FWIW the site is rich in perspective of an insiders recollection of the struggle to keep an production engine viable. The ECU and AFM details are interspersed throughout and are worth the gleaning. BTW, to TM et al on the ECU's , I recall that Darrel at Midwesty was extremely good at ECUs, why not pmail him regarding ECU errata. Enjoy, and pmail too is appreciated as I'm on digest. Mark |
