On my 1.9L, there is a strong suggestion that I have a leak in the intake manifold. This based on pinching the auxiliary air regulator hose when the engine is cold and not having the engine slow, as Bentley's says it should. Take a look at the thread "An Auxiliary Air Regulator puzzle" from yesterday for the details. I have gaskets and boots and other bits coming and I'm planning to just disassemble the whole intake plenum and runners and stuff and primp and floss everything. It doesn't look too hard, except for that coolant pipe that goes sideways across the top of the engine. That thing appears to be right in the darn way and looks like it will need to be removed. If that's done, will the cooling system need to bled? -- Mike "Rocket J Squirrel" Elliott 71 Type 2: the Wonderbus 84 Westfalia: Mellow Yellow ("The Electrical Banana") 74 Utility Trailer.
