Yeah, no doubt. For $700 you could buy a wrecked Golf or Jetta MK3 and have a nice factory 115 HP motor and modern Motronic engine management. With the VW CE2 wiring harness electrical hookup is just a couple wires.

Sure, I'm simplifying somewhat but still seems like a much better long term solution to keeping these old vans going.

To eliminate another "shortcoming" of the WBX motor.

Starting to make a conversion look less expensive still. :)
