Hm, with Joel Walker's help I may have found the reason for the stalling when cold. He suggested I take a look at the Auxiliary Air Regulator (1.9L). Bentley's says to squeeze the air hose when then engine is cold and idling and the revs should drop. They don't. This requires more investigation!
