I've never seen a Vanagon with a factory third brake light. Chris?

I added one to my 85 Westy using a third brake light kit from JC Whip-me. To mount it to the window it has a peel and stick foam edge. I ran the wires behind my curtain bars and through the grommet for the rear defroster wires. Once inside the van body I ran the wires inside the Westy cabinets down to the engine cover. I opted NOT to drill a hole through the rear deck so the wires go around the engine cover seal and to the existing brake light wiring. I used two layers of shrink wrap to protect the wires where they contact the edge of the engine cover. It's not perfect but it works for me.

Robert Keezer warmerwagen@hotmail.com sells a third brake light (from a Jetta?) that looks good.

I've got to find something that will work for my Single Cab when I have the tilt on. Mounting to the tailgate is an option but it would have to not clash with body when the gate was down. Suggestions?

Andrew

Was it only on some models and not others?? I know the Wolfburg was surpose to be the high end model in it's day so, I would think it would have had the 3rd brake lite. </HTML>
