The law-abiding, more respectful riders have a saying about this: "Loud pipes lose rights"

These loud pipes are blatantly illegal in every state. I've had discussions with the local gendarmes, they claim that the enforcement problem lies in too little manpower and not enough funding to purchase decibel meters. I countered with "don't make the angry citizens take it upon ourselves!"

Better to be SEEN than heard, IMHO. Noise really irritates most civilized folk. :-)
