I have a Tiico conversion with about 5K miles on it. I replaced the alternator/PS mounting bracket with pieces from an A2 engine. I have not upgraded the exhaust system yet as has been recommended by other Tiico convertors. The engine runs smooth, vibration and 'buzziness' free. Not quite as well as my 2001 Jetta, but it is much better than the stock 2.1 L in these regards as well as power and fuel consumption. Another neighbor Vanagon owner has dirven mine and shares the same observations.
