Hi Michael. If the intake boot on the WBX is similar to the intake boot on the air cooled engine (I believe it is) you can repair the cracks with Hi Temp RTV sealant. I've done this on my air cooled boot, and it's holding fine. Might work as a stop gap (no pun intended!) if cracks aren't too bad.
