These things rarely go bad, but it is not uncommon for the wiring to corrode and send faulty signals to the ECU. That is the only temperature sensitive component in the FI on these things. No O2 sensor to futz with. In an article on Boston Bob's website he reports similar symptoms with a vanagon that was tracked down to air bound lifters. Consider setting the lifter clearence to 0.006 and running it for a while. This should displace air with oil and would eliminate any associated problems. good luck, jake 82 AC vanagon |
