Chad -
In regards to your cold start idle problems, check your Auxilary Air Valve.
This has to be working correctly to allow for proper warm-up when cold.
They are no longer available new, only reman from a Python Injection sellor
or good used. They are the same on 76-79 Buses, 80-83.5 Air Cooled Vanagons
and 83.5-85 Watercooled Vanagons.
There has been recent discussions on the proper troubleshooting diagnosis of
the AAR on the list. Check the archives for the past two weeks of list
mail.
