I have run Mobil 1 15w-50 since my van had 105k on the odometer. I rebuilt the engine at 168k (not sure of the oil used prior to my purchasing the vehicle or how it was maintained/driven) and change the oil ever 6k and the filter every 3k. I now have 244k on my van and use it as a daily driver. I have absolutely no oil leaks and almost no oil consumption. My oil pressure buzzer has never sounded and I have no reason to believe that I have any oil pressure issues. I don't know of anyone that uses Mobil ! that has been able to attribute oil pressure problems to this synthetic oil. It is well worth the extra money in my opinion.

Thoughts on running Mobil-1 Synthetic oil

Joel, I have been using Mobil-1 15W 50 or 5W 50 in my Boston Bob Big Valve engine right from the beginning, after break-in. Now at 86,000 km I have never seen my oil light flicker. I also have a dash mounted mechanical oil pressure gauge. Readings have always been good. So, not sure why your experiencing what you are but I don't believe it's due to the Mobil 1.

Cheers,
