Subject: regarding the ad campaign for banks (there is a lie in it ... ?)

Dear Arthur Sulzberger Jr., Chairman & Publisher:

In a story by LYNNLEY BROWNING covering a banks attempt to reach customers http://www.nytimes.com/2007/10/03/business/media/03adco.html?_r=1&ref=todayspaper&oref=slogin there is a line indicating the bus pictured is a ' 68 ... i belong to a VW van users group... V anagon.com whose members are knowledgeable about all things Bus / VAN ...

The scuttlebutt around the users is that the van pictured is really a 72

comments range from ... If you look carefully, however, the bus appears to be a '72-it's got the larger tail lights. (name1) to ... Hey, the guy has $3,000,000. He built a time machine, went back to 1968 and convinced VW to make a 1 off '68 that had '72 modifications. (name 2) and ... Nah, it's just typical of the world today, sloppy work and no attention to detail. If they wanted a '68 bus for the ad, they aren't that hard to find! (name3)

It is none of my concern but i suggest if you want the customer (bank) to have creditability in their ad program they may want to employ a technical expert along with an advert agency.

thank you for your consideration yours
