Subject: gear linkage trouble after tranny out and short shift kit
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1

I recently had the tranny out for my subie swap. It worked fine afterwards, although shifting into 4th was a little hard at first. But it got better over the weeks so i forgot about it. Now I just installed the short shift kit, and there is no way to get into fourth now anymore, at least while standing. So...... I know there can be some difficulties from not getting the shifter base plate into the right spot after installing the short shift kit, but this should typically get you reverse gear trouble i think. So I wonder before I take that part again, whether its just the rear linkage, and the original problem just got amplified with the short shift kit? Any expert advice on where the problem could be - front or rear linkage? And in what direction to shift the linkage?

thanks florian
