Joel,
You need to state what oil pressure you are seeing and at which pressure you
see the light flickering. Where is the oil temp sender mounted? One thing
you will find is that outside temperature has very little effect on oil
temperature. Load and speed are the big factors and also fill level. the oil
to water heat exchanger ensures the oil gets up to coolant temperature. Any
further heating is the sign that you are exceeding some thermal limits. Oil
viscosities have variation but you should not be so close that these
variations should cause any problem. Are you seeing ~10 psi/1,000 rpm? The
stock low pressure switch is 4.23 psi. Maybe the fill level was too high or
some unusual driving condition got the oil hot enough and thin enough to
activate the light. The Mobil 1 is not the problem.
