Subject: LVC..another road trip, yahoo!

We're leaving tomorrow for another fun road trip in the 84 low-topped faux Westie with the Inline Mouse motor. From the Portland, Oregon area to Southern Utah for 4 days of bicycle racing and camping. We'll probably spend one nite in the Blue Mountains near Pendleton, the next at an out of the way Nevada St. Park south of Jackpot called Cathedral Gorge and pull into Snow Canyon State park (Utah) for the 3 nights while we are bike racing with the other oldsters at the Huntsman World Sr. Games. The bike racing at this event draws all the best racers from around the country and from Europe for age-group racing in 4 different disciplines. Also offered are age-group classes for less experienced racers. Many other sports are offered too. http://www.hwsg.com/

If you are an Over 50 athlete looking for age-grouped competition in many sports, or interested in that kind of thing, this event is a perfect 'excuse' to extend your summer season with a visit to the very scenic southern Utah area at a great time of year. It can be cool at night or even rain, but normally it's shorts weather. The organizers gladly accept volunteers.

Last year at this time, this was our Maiden Voyage in the "new" van..Since then, it's been to Mexico, Canada, Nor Cal twice, and all over the Northwest, with relatively few problems and much enjoyment..
