for sale used.

I remember GM MAF's are karman units, and produce a frequency based "count"
for the ECU, this would definitely not work properly without conversion...
hence the black smoke at startup(bad too rich) and extremely high MPG(bad,
too lean)  The fact that he can drive it like that at all is surprising.

Put a wide band O2 on the setup and watch it during a drive cycle. It's
likely a nightmare.
