In 1998 my husband and I bought a 23 ft rv. We wanted to drive it to his native Guatemala, but decided against it because of the dangers of driving in remote areas and corrupt police. On a whim they could "suspect" that we were drug dealers and seize the vehicle, or rip it apart and then return it to us in pieces!
