It doesn't matter which mode fridge is in.

In terms of what can happen, my understanding is that operating it off level will inhibit the flow of chemicals in tubes at rear of fridge, or at the very least, make it work harder to move these chemicals. (ammonia etc.) Not sure how long is too long, but I think an hour won't hurt it.

I have, quite ignorantly, operated my Dometic overnight on **slightly** unlevel ground. It still works, but I don't reccomend it.
