Thanks Mark. I have a 86 without AC and no PS and had the small fan. The wiring looked like it was from older vans so I replaced it all with a complete harness from a 91 with AC. It only runs at hi speed, not often. Actually, it has never come on unless I idle the van for a very long time. The temp needle stays low on the gauge also. The van runs like a top and I have checked the thermo switch at the rad and checked the temp with thermo gun. Thanks to all that responded. My van runs great. I was just curious. dylan Mark Drillock <mdrillock@COX.NET> wrote: I think it is like this. 82-85 2 speeds, small fan motor. 86-91 2wd non-A/C, 2 speeds small fan motor 86-91 Syncro non-A/C, 2 speeds big fan motor 86-91 all with factory A/C, 3 speeds, big fan motor Mark Mike wrote: > AFAIK, > All models, two speeds. > With A/C switch on, this forces on high speed fan operation (good to > get it > to stop overheating, if your fan switch is bad and your A/C compressor is > removed, like on my old '84). > > Mike B. > > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "Ben Cichowski" > To: > Sent: Friday, October 12, 2007 1:22 PM > Subject: Re: Cooling Fan info discrepancies > > >> Dylan, >> >> Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe vans without AC >> have >> 2 >> speeds (low...and high - just before overheating) just like the ones with >> AC.
