Just a thought: If this engine isn't running, and the seller says it needs a cam belt and tensioner, and it's an interference engine ...... isn't it possible that all the valves have been driven into the piston tops as a result of a running-engine-belt-failure? Pardon my paranoia but I just had that happen to my TIICO (an interference engine) a month ago. Bob ..... having an EJ22 installed this week .... a non interference engine, and with 10+ more HP than that Passat motor. _________________________________________________________________ Help yourself to FREE treats served up daily at the Messenger Café.
