Subject: 14,900km (9000miles) later...

Since my engine conversion...

I'm impress! some time ago, as a westy driver and a mechanic i was trying to think about replacing the aging but venerable wasser boxer with a more modern and a bit more powerfull engine, but time was missing to search and develop seomething like that. In my shop, i had seen old bus's with carburated Subi 1.8L engine, not pretty at all but working fine. So came Hans with his Vanaru conversion... finnaly, someone as perfected the Subi conversion.

Anyway, after 9000 mile in one summer, i'm more than impress. This thing is running like a champ. As stable and as powefull since the first day we put this one here. Never giving me any sign of... anything.

Time has pass, so i have join the Vanaru project because i believe in it and i drive one each day. Already, me, Hans, and with the great help of a few ladies friend did 8 conversions, and 6 to come.

It's a great adventure for the vanagon owner.

I'm now building an very explicite page on the subject, my way! comming soon to a theater near you...

I had to share my joy... that joy is bringing me across the US and into Mexico in 1.5 month. A 12,000 miles trip.

Cheers, Ben http://www.benplace.com/vw2.htm
