the westy side screens nylon screening was originally HEAT SEAMED into the plastic screen fame at the factory, not glued.

but when i repair the screens, i just hot-glue new screening in. it works as good as heat seaming. place the screen on a flat table, with a thick phonebook on the screen to hold it flat while you are hot-gluing it. i use a spackle trowel spreader to hold the screen down into the fresh bead of hot glue till it dries. the sharp long blade of the trowel wont stick to the glue, i run the blade over a candlestick so the wax also prohibits the blade from sticking to the glue. .

fyi, the OEM westy screens are NLA new.

for you anacronym challenged folks, OEM means Original Equipment Manufacturer (ie, factory) and NLA means No Longer Available. i do have some good used ones FS though, and i repair screens as long as the frames are good.

and yes the skylight has a velcro on screen.
