I had exactly the same symptoms. The Bentley ECU pin test revealed that #1 fuel injector was not firing and pointed to an ECU problem. Replacing the ECU did the trick...almost...when it started misfiring again, I put the old ECU back in and then IT worked. Conclusion: bad connection at the ECU. Cleaning the pins with an acid etch solved it.

Try running the engine at idle and moving the ECU pin connector around to see if that changes anything. If yes, take it apart and clean the pins, then put back together firmly. If not, do the Bentley pin test and see what you get. It will tell you if there's a bad wire or bad ground to the #1 fuel injector.

If you're getting spark, then it's a fuel injection issue. You are getting spark to #1, yes?
