I'd also look at your idle switch adjustment screw. If you have it set too
far in, the ECU  thinks it still wants to idle when you want to accelerate,
and is sending a "run lean" signal to the injectors, causing the poor
acceleration/potential bucking. Bentley is pretty clear on this. On the '84,
take a small screwdriver and back the screw out 1/4 or 1/2 turn and see if
that makes a difference. It could also be the switch itself, but first check
the screw adjustment. By the way, this screw is extremely sensitive--1/4
turn will make a difference.
