Volks, My 1991 GL has passed the 180,000 mile mark and it is getting VERY noisy when it hits a bump (lots of bumps on Midwest streets). The mechanic I usually go to is very good, but not a VW specialist and is not able to diagnose without a lot of expensive dismantling. Every van I've had got noisy when it reached this kind of mileage, and I suspect that a good shop with Vanagon experience would be able to tell me most of what I need to know, just by driving it around and hearing what I'm hearing. Suggestions, anyone? Thanks in advance Steve |
