Hello, I'm looking for a 2.1L Vanagon Westy! I enjoyed a 1985 Westy (named "Spiny Norman") for many years but had to sell it a few years back when I moved to Philly. I'm now in Seattle and have been looking at craigslist but most are either aircooled (nice, but not what I want) or just overpriced by a lot as they are at new tranny/engine mileages. Anybody have any good ideas of other places to look? I don't want a beater or a fixer but don't want to pay 10K for one with close to 200K miles on original tranny and an engine with low compression . . . . I've been thinking - heresy - of a eurovan Winnebago if no Westys appear, but would really prefer the Vanagon. I'm looking in the Western Washington area as I've traveled with a friend to look at other cars listed on craigslist (he wants a jeep) and many are not even close to the descriptions. A hole in the driver's floor big enough to throw a softball through and bounce off the road and a seat ready to fall through the floor and out on the highway does not qualify as "little or no rust."
