Hi Everyone, When changing the transmission fluid in my automatic transmission on my '84 Westy the mechanic found brown plastic parts in the filter screen. He told me they were thrust washers that had broken. There is no sign of improper operation or noise from the tranny with 260,000 miles on it. Any suggestions on if I should have it rebuilt right away? Or can I continue to drive it without doing any further damage? How many miles have you gotten out of your automatic transmission? Any strong recommendations about having them rebuilt? Thanks, Blake Heinlein http://blakeheinlein.googlepages.com/ |
