Feeling a little bored and destructive this Sunday afternoon, I decided to cut into my old fuel tank. It was pretty rusty and had some pin hole leaks in it. Here's some pictures if you ever wondered what the inside of your fuel tank looks like: Top of picture is front of van. Line to engine on right, line from engine on left: http://gallery.openfbo.com/camper/3078562637_ORIG Close up of screens for the to/from engine lines: http://gallery.openfbo.com/camper/3078562641_ORIG With screen removed, there's a resevoir that the fuel must get down into: http://gallery.openfbo.com/camper/3078562644_ORIG Upper left side of tank. Rust or fuel reacting with the weld? That's the vent to the expansion tanks. Fuel sender on lower left: http://gallery.openfbo.com/camper/3078562644_ORIG Cheers, Matt |
