Subject: What about heated seats?
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1; format=flowed

With cool weather coming on here in NJ I am seriously thinking about heated seats for my vans. I know that this was actually an option somewhere (the parts are in the ETKA) however I have never seen a factory Vanagon heated seat install. Anyone done this conversion with an aftermarket kit they can recommend? Is there any interest in a heated seat kit if I could get one together for the Vanagon? I think the price point would be around $199 per seat but I may be able to get it lower if there is a enough interest. We could do a group purchase if there are enough folks out there with cold buns.

If you have never had or driven in a car with heated seats you might think, "Why bother?" However once you have a car with it is difficult to live without. Imagine jumping into a freezing cold Vanagon and within a minute you are warm (at least a major part of you is). Instead of the normal 5-7 minute wait for the van to get warm enough to put out some heat. It makes a big difference in your comfort level and I think it would be a great mod.

What do you folks think? Ken Wilford John 3:16 www.vanagain.com
