John,

I have a pair of these Cibies and have modified them to mount on a Vanagon, however it is not something that everyone can do and I will tell you why. I could find no way to mount them and get to be able to adjust properly except by using an old pair of stock Vanagon lights that had broken lenses. I smashed out the rest of the glass and then cut away the reflector until I could mount the Cibie light in the middle of it and allow access to the bulb. I then glued the Cibie housing into the Vanagon modified housing with silicon. It has worked and held up for several years with no signs of failure. Since you use part of the stock Vanagon reflector the mounts are all there for the stock adjusters. However not everyone has a set of already broken headlight lenses. To take a pair of good lenses and break them just to do this upgrade is like wasting at least $75 per lens or more (what you could get by selling the old lenses). Add this to the cost of the Cibie lenses and the other parts you will need and you are probably approaching the cost of one of my H4 upgrade kits so what is the point.

I have the Euro H4 Version of the Vanagon square lights on my site for sale as a kit and I would recommend just selling your old lights and then buying the upgrade kit. Everything just fits together because it is all stock VW parts. I have sold many of these kits and folks are very happy with them. I would also recommend buying a set of headlight covers. These are $49 a pair but they protect over $400-500 worth of lights and adjusters. I have had a set on my 90 Carat for four years and have had no issues with them or the lights they protect.

Hope this helps, Ken Wilford John 3:16 www.vanagain.com
