Thanks for your input, Joel, Bill and Robert. The battery may be a bit weak, so I tried starting the car with a jump from a good one after tapping on the pump with a wooden handle. Still no luck. I'd like to check the voltage output by the pump relay. However, the instructions that came with my voltmeter warned against possible surge damage to the meter from testing a circuit where a motor was turning on or off. Should I use a testing light instead? Also, how can I test the battery without damaging the meter? Thanks, Lee |
