The 1.9 cooing system is not as resilient as the 2.1 set up. You do not have to either system 100%. If enough liquid is in the system to get good flow, any air will work its way out through the expansion tank after a number of heat-cool cycles. The real trick to bleeding is to d it with the engine cold. You should open or relieve pressure once the engine is warm. Warm cooling will vaporize quickly and you will really be venting vapor not air and this can also cause uneven surface temperatures in the heads on sides of the cylinder liners. Engine damage here we come. If a liter of air hangs out up there, will it affect cooling? Maybe it expands more than the coolant when hot and forces more coolant into the coolant recovery tank* than would otherwise go there? === * See Jim? I'm teachable!
