Battery voltage is approximately 11. 3 volts. Is that enough to activate the relay and turn over the engine, but not enough for some other critical function? My hydrometer gives low readings on some cells. The battery is 4 years old, so maybe it's time to get a new one. In any case, I guess it's time to check voltage at the pump. Can I leave the pump leads connected and just pierce the rubber boots with the sharp probes of the meter? By the way, can wires lose their color? At the relay, the wire is red with a black stripe. At the pump it seems to be white with a black stripe. Continuing thanks to everyone. I'll try to report tomorrow. Lee |
