No, those are not the pins I refer to. The coil's center connection (coil
wire to distributor) and the distributor's cap connections is what I am
referring to to. All Vanagon coils come with threaded posts with 1/4"
terminal quick disconnects.
Your coil for your 84 should be Bosch 00041 though.
