Whether you think these are "solid evidence" is up to you; you are of course free to use ANY coolant you choose in YOUR vehicle; my policy is to use OEM coolant in any vehicle and that's what I do in my cars now.

My personal experience is that after switching to Dex-Cool in a '91 Jetta I developed coolant leaks around the temperature sensors and between the cooling hose flange and the head. I'll admit the only evidence I have that this was caused by the Dex-Cool is the timing.
