That's because two different ones could be used depending on the distributor cap and/or ignition wires being used on 83.5-85 models

Bosch 00041 - Original for 83.5-84 Models using Bosch 03010 Cap (the one without the pins) See my links: http://www.oldvolkshome.com/ignition.htm#V8384 and http://www.airheadparts.com/viewDetail.asp?strMasterCat=&idproduct=6724

Bosch 00061 - Original for 85 Models using Bosch 03212 or 03214 Cap (the one with the pins) See my links: http://www.oldvolkshome.com/ignition.htm#V1985 and http://www.airheadparts.com/viewDetail.asp?idProduct=6725

The airhead listing(s) are the most correct for original application, because I wrote 'em ;-)

I happen to use the 85 style on "Ole Putt" because I prefer the "pin style" distributor cap. Just a personal opinion, but I feel it has a more positive connection for the ignition wires. -- Jim Thompson 84 GL 1.9 "Gloria" 84 Westfalia 2.1 "Ole Putt" 73 K Ghia Coupe "Denise" 72 411 Station Wagon "Pug" oldvolkshome@gmail.com http://www.oldvolkshome.com *********************************** On 10/22/07, Mike Rocket J Squirrel Elliott <camping.elliott@gmail.com> wrote: > > The label is illegible so I can see what Bosch coil my 84 1.9L is > sporting.
