Subject: Patching a water tank?

Don, IF it's PVC, ABS, or most of the other thermoplastics, a plastic welder can fix it for you. I'd check the yellow pages for one near you. They'll be able to recognize the type of plastic and fix it. Note: this is NOT a suggestion to "weld" it with your trusty soldering iron! : )

As an alternative, again if it's PVC or ABS, try the solvent cement sold for plumbing repairs in conjunction with a sheet of the same type of plastic over the bad area (if possible). You should be able to get thin sheets either at a hobby supply or a plastic supply.

Good luck!

Has anyone found a way to patch our water tanks? The material (PVC, Poly -pro, whatever) doesn't let much stick to it at least in my past experience trying epoxy, polyester, etc. Is there a way to repair that stuff?
