Subject: noise from gas tank after engine shutting off
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="US-ASCII"

I have heard a noise from my gas tank about 5 seconds after shutting off the engine. I heard this noise both before and after replacing all of my fuel lines. I am thinking that there is something clogged with my charcoal canister or the valve on it. Has anyone on the list had a similar symptom and a fix for this issue? My van has 245k on the odometer and I have never done anything with the charcoal canister or valve. The noise sounds like pressure or a vacuum releasing on the gas tank ("donk" sound). Almost sounds like someone stepped on the tank and then took their foot off of it. I searched the archives but maybe didn't use the right keywords. Thanks to anyone with any suggestions on where I might start.

David Clarkson 90 Westy 245k
