Hi Don,

Check your 4 rear engine mounts. Look to see how much your engine can rock, especially on startup: Get someone to start the van while you watch the tailpipe and see if it whacks the body.

If you do have to replace them I would recommend AGAINST the cheap Chinese ones. They are not as well designed as the OE ones.

i have been getting a banging noise when i decelerate in gear, that seems to be a lot less when i give the van a bit more gas. i have no grinding, and no problem at all going between gears. all shifting is smooth and there is no hesitation at all. but, as said, a bang bang bang occurs every now and then while in gear. it is not a constant, as it seems to occur more later in the day after some use than at first start up. any ideas as to for what i should be looking? bearing or gear on the way out? oil level low?

help appreciated
