This is somewhat off-topic, but many of us use Paypal to buy the never ending stream of parts for our Vanagons........

Here's a little Paypal advice (and, as always, in the advice department, you get what you pay for ;)):

Always, and I mean *ALWAYS* use a credit card to fund Paypal transactions. Their complaint resolution process, well, sucks to put it nicely.

Example: I bought and never received an item. Reported it, and got *most* of my money back. They keep a $10 "fee". Crooks. After two months, and another complaint with the State Attorney General, I finally received the item. Paypal was no help.

Now, when you fund by credit card, don't even bother with the crooks at Paypal. Simply call (or use the CC web site) to initiate a charge back. Then, you will most likely get *ALL* of your money returned.

Don't even get me started on the crappy protection Paypal "provides" for sellers. eBay is just as bad. Since they have been one and the same for awhile now, things just go downhill.

Sure, I still grudging use ePal. When a reasonable alternative comes along, I will switch in a second.

For now, as a seller, I "self-insure". That means I build some padding into the price of all my goods, because I know Paypal will screw me as the seller on a certain (fortunately small) percentage of transactions.

Buyers and sellers beware. I hate to sound so negative, but Paybay has earned my bad wrath. ;(
