Right here Mike:

Although the vacuum advance readings in my specs show up to 16 degrees, that's really during acceleration. During cruise it can average around 12 degrees vacuum advance on top of the 25 degrees mechanical = 37 degrees total advance from the idle of 5 ATDC = 32 degrees BTDC @ 3800rpm, which is the ideal Bosch advance that has been mostly used on both the air cooled and wasserboxer since 1971. -- Jim Thompson 84 GL 1.9 "Gloria" 84 Westfalia 2.1 "Ole Putt" 73 K Ghia Coupe "Denise" 72 411 Station Wagon "Pug" oldvolkshome@gmail.com http://www.oldvolkshome.com *********************************** On 10/30/07, Michael Elliott <camping.elliott@gmail.com> wrote: > > Newbie question: What's the total advance spec for a 1.9l?
