Santa Barbara has perhaps the strictest overnight parking restrictions regarding "camping" type vehicles (ie: you'll get ticketed, rousted, etc.,) in the Southern California area and has been a volatile situation now for the past several years among the growing homeless population. Many of the "Motorhome Bum" and "Motorhome Homeless" have taken to spreading out to the surrounding areas and even to as far south as Ventura where I live in my 84 Westfalia.

I have a friend who parks her Westy inside the VW repair shop where she works so she can't get rousted by the local gendarmes. -- Jim Thompson 84 GL 1.9 "Gloria" 84 Westfalia 2.1 "Ole Putt" 73 K Ghia Coupe "Denise" 72 411 Station Wagon "Pug" oldvolkshome@gmail.com http://www.oldvolkshome.com *********************************** On 10/29/07, Michael Elliott <camping.elliott@gmail.com> wrote: > > Mrs Squirrel and I are talking about taking our bicycles to Santa Barbara > (CA) this coming weekend for a mini-holiday.
