Back in the late 60s and early 1970s, when I was in undergrad and grad school in Missouri, I drove solo, relatively non-stop 23 (+ - 10-30 mins) hour one way trips to Vermont in my 1964 Beetle. It never seemed to take so long on my returns to either Southwest or Central Missouri, for some reason. I did a lot of inside window scraping during many of those winter season trips.
