Read what Daniel Stern has to say about the HID kits: http://www.danielsternlighting.com/tech/bulbs/Hid/conversions/conversions.html Note the pattern difference between filament and arc lamps. He makes the point that the Halogen headlamps and HID headlamps require very different optics to produce a safe and effective—not to mention legal—beam pattern.
