I FINALLY got my cast alloy adaptor mounts back from the CNC-milling shop (only to discover that they drilled the doormount holes at 60mm spacing instead of 50... GRRRR!!!).

So they'll have to go back to be filled with weld and remachined... then to a finishing shop to smooth edges & screwholes and smooth the rough finish. The powdercoat.

Anyway, I put the mirrors on them and put them on the van using one screw each... they look good. I haven't quite gotten the angle right, so may need to cut the stems and reweld at a slight angle so I can center the rear view on the road behind, with the window bottoms level and the side of the van just visible.

These mirrors I think are Japanese-market only. They are bigger than export mirrors and have deepish chromed fronts. Hilux Surfs were exported as 4Runners (for interest of the Canadians, there are also Masterace Surf vans and Carina Surf-badged wagons, so calling a Hilux Surf "Surf" is potentially misleading).

I have taken images, if anyone wants to see. P-mail me.
