Craig If you like steep but rewarding hiking you could hike Mt. Abraham on the Long Trail right outside of Bristol. Camels Hump is a little further north and is also worth the grunt to the top. If you go down south you must stop in Brattleboro. If you like crazy artsy liberal towns this town is for you. Visit the Co-op and have lunch and people watch. There is a great Brazilian restaurant in Burlington. Forgot the name but I'm sure it's the only Brazilian restaurant probably in the state but is worth the whole dining experience you will get there. Check out Church St. Check out Higher Ground if you like music. Walk on the waterfront. Lake Champlain sure is pretty right about sunset. If you are around Middlebury check out Mossalamoo Recreation Area. I just spent the last five months there and it is covered with hikes and needless to say very beautiful. Free camping in National Forest too. It's and incredibly beautiful state. Have fun. Stay warm. Merv. |
