I am just envious of youse guys with Subie-powered syncro westies. I will have one eventually, so I lurk over there on your list, trying to learn all I can before I get going on MY Subi-gon. I just can't resist the chance to 'tease' because some of your group is so evangelical about the conversion. They get all huffy and stuff when ever anyone dares to question if a Subaru-Powered Vanagon is, indeed, the ONE TRUE vanagon. They seem to think all non-subie conversions, like the Tiico, for example, should be considered infidel-vanagons, or something like that. It's all done in good spirits simply for my own amusment and I think I usually include, in any post where I dare question the Subie transplant, that I am joking and that I have never driven one and that I intend to try one very soon..As that Tiico guy just posted, every conversion...in fact every auto, has it't own share of problems..and I just don't buy it that the Subie conversion is an angel-a perfect trouble free swap, intstant Nirvana... Now Scott, you of all people should be that aware the 996 twin turbo Porsche is a designed from scratch *water cooled boxer six*, making huge torque and hp with it's two turbos. Close to 600 at the rear wheels, if I recall. It was the 993 Porsche that was most like the WBX motor in that they took the old 911 air cooled six and tried to water cool it with just the heads... Ciao,

Don Hanson
