Hi Being a indepentant small shop it is well known if you ask what is the cash price you may save some coin. Or if you tell the shop it is a Porsche or a VW there is a different price. In my Area ( Ann Arbor ) Ive heard if you tell them where you live the price can be more or less for the same Job. Ive always felt this was Wrong since I live in a fairly good area and Think it is a shame someone would charge me more for my geographical area. But some do. The small shops will have prices all over the board pending how you approach and what you wear and drive. Sound Bad? Ive always charged for the Job big or small, Where you live or dont. I really dont care what you drive or have. The Job is the Job and it takes a certain amount of Time to do it. My Expenses constitute my price and I stick to my guns on Price for the Quality I push. Sorry for the Rant But I did have the rear caliper rebuilt on the 66 912 for only 60.00 each From a BIG brake shop place locally. verse a friend of mine had his "Professionally" rebuilt by a porsche dealer for a mear 225.00 each. Both still stop the car very well and dont leak. All in good fun. Yes shopping around doesnt hurt a bit also you most of the time need to tell them its a vw not a ford to get the job done and the right part. C-ya and buying on line is a completely different story. I my self have over paid on line when I could purchase local and keep a local in business. Have a good one Jonce

Everyone I asked said NO >NO NO. I went to the local small town independent tire shop and he put them >on for 12 bucks each. Didn't ask, so I didn't tell him. >Courtney
